Low protein binding Low aqueous extractables Advantec Cellulose Acetate (CA) membrane filters are low protein binding and ideally suited for applications such as diagnostic cytology and receptor binding studies. Cellulose Acetate's hydrophilic nature and it's low absorptive property makes it a good choice for general filtration of enzyme solutions or proteins to maximize recovery. The recovery of fastidious gram positive organisms may be enhanced by culturing on cellulose acetate membranes. Cellulose Acetate exhibits improved solvent resistance to low molecular weight alcohols, improved heat resistance, and is bidirectionally stronger compared to MCE media. Cellulose Acetate membranes can autoclaved or in-line steam sterilized repeatedly without changing the bubble point of affecting filter integrity. Offered as non-sterile and pre-sterilized by EtO.
